The Submission Process:
We will accept portfolio from students until November 30th, 2017. Thirty top rated portfolios will be selected primarily. An interview will be called to select final eight/ten for the project. Any student from fine art or other public/private university can apply for this project. They can submit portfolios online or directly to the gallery address. There are no fees associated.
For 2 dimensional works like Painting, Drawing, Printmaking, Photography, Design, Textile, Visual Arts you should submit 10 images of each discipline. You may add close up view of any of the art images.
For 3 dimensional works like Crafts & Trades, Sculpture, Ceramics, Land art, Installation you should submit 10 images of each discipline. You must add at least 3 different views of any of the art images.
For other discipline like Collaboration, Concept & Theory, Light and Projection, Performance, Poetry, Sound, Choreography, Film & Video, Music & Sound you should submit the layout plan, a brief statement and any images which can briefly portray an idea of it or a small ppt/video file.
Students can submit multiple disciplines. Along with the form, also submit biographical information, CVs, links, others related information. Participants will be judged by the strength of their portfolio, hard work, innovative skills, knowledge of different ideas and of course their dedication.
Portfolio should be submitted by online or directly to the address. It should be in a Memory Device/CD/DVD file.
Program Description:
বৃহত্ত্ব Immensity is an independent and nonprofit art project for students, a curetting project by Bishwajit Goswami, visual artist and faculty of fine art university. It is platform where students can perform to develop alternative art edification, an extent of something to build the infinity of space to be taught, create or allocate.
This project offers students an opportunity to work for a period of time firstly in the residency on December 18th, 19th and 20th 2017 at Lama District. Fasiakhali is a very isolated place in an environment that is surrounded by the echoes of nature. The Residency can act as a channel for the temporary gathering of students in a open air excursion activities, who wish to pursue their work for a short while in a new context, under no pressure, inspired by others, laid back, thriving, in community or in solitude or just enjoy the beautiful sight and encounter the unknown. Students will have the opportunity to discuss and elaborate their thought and enter into a dialogue with each other, gather in the evening discussion, watching art documentaries & other related art presentations with the curator.
Later on, returning from the origin of nature they will have one month in January to transform their idea to create their own work in a different discipline. Each student must be competent to create unique and sufficient works within a month. All participants must meet weekly with curator for individual research assistance/resources, project guidance, and enhance his/her process & formation for final execution.
They should be cooperated with art record & activities, to attend with audience/ viewers to make the show more effective – press & media/ art school student’s tour / alternative talk session during the exhibition time.
The total process of project will run under the guidance of the curator. The curator will select the final work for display. The participators must finally join to exhibit his/her work.
The whole project will be coordinated by Abinta Gallery of Fine Arts & supported by Hamid Fabrics Limited.
ঢাবি চারুকলা অনুষদে ‘জলকেলি’-শীর্ষক দ্বিতীয় যৌথ জলরং চিত্রকর্ম প্রদর্শনী উদ্বোধন
ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় চারুকলা অনুষদের জয়নুল গ্যালারীতে অঙ্কন ও চিত্রায়ণ বিভাগের উদ্যোগে দ্বিতীয় যৌথ জলরং-এর দলগত চিত্রকর্ম প্রদর্শনী ‘জলকেলি’ উদ্বোধন করেন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক ড. মো. আখতারুজ্জামান। আজ ২৩ অক্টোবর ২০১৭ সোমবার দুপুরে অনুষদের ডিন অধ্যাপক নিসার হোসেনের সভাপতিত্বে অনুষ্ঠিত উক্ত উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানে বিশেষ অতিথি ছিলেন বরেণ্য শিল্পী অধ্যাপক রফিকুন নবী। অনুষ্ঠানে অনুষদের শিক্ষক ও শিক্ষার্থীবৃন্দ উপস্থিত ছিলেন।
প্রধান অতিথির বক্তব্যে উপাচার্র্য অধ্যাপক ড. মো. আখতারুজ্জামান বলেন, শিক্ষার্থীরা একাডেমিক কার্যক্রমের সাথে সাথে যে প্রদর্শনীর আয়োজন করেছে তা ধন্যবাদের দাবীদার। জলরঙে কাজ করার জন্য একইসাথে মেধা ও দক্ষতা খুব জরুরী। জলরং নিয়ে কাজ করতে যতœ ও মনোযোগ দরকার তাই অংশগ্রহনকারী শিল্পীদের আন্তরিক অভিনন্দন জানাই। উপাচার্য আরও বলেন, স্নাতকোত্তর শেষ করে যে ৫জন শিল্পী এই প্রদর্শনীতে অংশ নিয়েছেন তাদের সর্বাঙ্গিক সাফল্য কামনা করি।
উদ্বোধনের পর অংশগ্রহনকারী শিল্পী ও অতিথিদের নিয়ে উপাচার্য প্রদর্শনী ঘুরে দেখেন ।
‘জলকেলি’ প্রদর্শনীতে জয়নুল গ্যালারীতে ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় ও রাজশাহী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের যে ৫জন শিল্পীর শিল্পকর্ম স্থান পেয়েছে তারা হলেন- সুমন কুমার সরকার, শাইক ফায়জুর রহমান, সৈকত হোসেন, অজয় সান্যাল ও শিপ্রা বিশ্বাস। প্রদর্শনীতে জলরং-এর ৩৫টি চিত্রকর্ম প্রদর্শিত হচ্ছে। প্রদর্শনী আগামী ২৯ অক্টোবর পর্যন্ত সকাল ১১টা থেকে রাত ৮টা পর্যন্ত উন্মুক্ত থাকবে।
